I found a great article - 8 Ways To Tell If You're A Truly Compassionate Person - and decided to make a brief summary.
These characteristics are generally associated with a compassionate person...
1. Emphasizing one's similarities to other people, rather than one's differences.
2. Giving a low priority to money.
3. Taking action by volunteering and offering specific help to individuals.
4. Being kind to yourself. Being compassionate begins with self-compassion.
5. Teaching others. Teaching another is the most powerful way to reenforce any idea in oneself.
6. Being in the moment. Compassion requires giving one's full attention to another - without multitasking, or thinking about one's next appointment.
7. Understanding that each person holds their own valid point-of-view.
8. Being grateful for other people.

He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.
- Jesus of Nazareth (John 8:7)
Who am I to judge.
- Pope Francis
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
- Jesus of Nazareth (John 15:12)
Jesus often asks His followers to follow His commandments -
especially loving one another,
but NEVER does Jesus ask his followers to punish other people for anything.
The ONLY mention of punishment in the four Gospels is in Matthew 25:46.
Consider reading Matthew 25:31-46 today.

This is at the heart of all good education,
where the teacher asks students to think and engages
them in encouraging dialogues,
constantly checking for understanding and growth.

The good teacher explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates.

We Learn...
10% of what we read,
20% of what we hear,
30% of what we see,
50% of what we see and hear,
70% of what we discuss,
80% of what we experience,
95% of what we teach others.
